Cridersville

Cridersville Elementary

A very enthusiastic group of students from Cridersville, Ohio greeted author and illustrator, Linda M. Brandt and her full sized “Henry”.

The author began her presentation in the gym where she conducted a PowerPoint of her life as an artist including pictures of her studio, her car named “Vern” and pictures of the Alligator Farm near her house. Ms. Brandt encouraged the students to dream big and to never get discouraged.

Ms. Brandt was assisted by Nancy Myers of Wapakoneta, in the library where Ms. Brandt read the book, “The Life of Henry the Tulip Bulb” to the students. She, then, shared a few moments with the Henry puppet.

The Henry puppet is a new addition to Ms. Brandt’s presentation.

She, then, concluded the event by showing the students how to paint and how to create a storyboard. The students ranging from Kindergarten to the 4th Grade enthusiastically participated in the creation of a storyboard.

Many thanks to the students and to the faculty for making this a wonderful event!
